Accessing materials

Not sure how to access your materials? 

  • Digital materials will be available in Canvas by the first day of classes. 
  • Print materials will be available for pickup up at the campus store. 

How to access digital materials

  1. Log into Canvas (this will open a new window).
  2. Click the "Course Works" tab, located on the left navigation bar. This will launch Course Works.
  3. To access:
    1. eBooks and Library Materials
      1. Find the eBook you want to read, then click "Open Book".
    2. Courseware
      1. Find the courseware you want to read, then click "Acquire Access Code". 
      2. An alpha-numeric access code will appear. Follow the instructions listed to either:
        1. Paste the code into a link (setup by your instructor in Canvas), or
        2. Paste the code within the publisher's website.
    3. Codeless Publisher Courseware
      1. If you do not have an "Acquire Access Code" button, no code is required.
      2. Click "Access Courseware" and you'll be routed to the content via the publisher's website.
    4. Library Reading Lists
      1.  Access this via the “Library Course Materials” menu item in your Canvas course menu, or
      2.  Access the list in Course Works.

How to access print materials

Some print materials, (i.e. lab manuals, periodic tables, other textbooks, etc.) may be included in your Course Works. These items will be available for pickup at the campus store. When viewing your materials in Course Works, print materials will be labeled and an order status will appear as well. 

Before you go to the campus store to pick up print materials, make sure you have a confirmation email from the campus store that your materials are ready for pickup. This email must include an order number. 

When you get to the campus store to pick up your materials, make sure to present your UCard as well as your confirmation email (including order number).

All undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in Course Works.
